2 type R 10's ported(are these specs ok)

im building a box for 2 10" type R subs running about 400 to each sub.
3.5 cubic feet @ 36hz

dimension 34 wide x 13 tall x 26.25 deep

port width:6.25 inches

Port Area:71.875 Square Inches

Port Length:35.75 inches

How do you guys think it will sound
Depends on what youre going for, the larger the box, the deeper the bass and typicaly a spl peak at certain frequencies. Punched it up in ISD and you are looking at a 6+ DB peak at 45 hz. If you listen to rap and such primarily then this would be a good loud setup, (assuming you build the box correctly). However if you looking for more flat response (insure that all your bass notes are about the same volume) 2.8 cubes at 26hz is much better. I wont be as loud but it will be much more accurate. This box actually produces lower bass than the bigger one, that is if i put all the specs in correctly.

i would tune a little lower. i am making my friend a box with the same subs. it will be 3.5 cubes 30-32 tuning. it will have 40-50 sq inches of port area.
That produces the same problem, but moves the peak lower. If you really want a box that big do 3.5 cubes @ 25hz. That will yield a almost flat curve, with overkill low end response. -3db at 30hz is considered overkill anyway and this box at 25hz does +1. Someone else wanna crunch these numbers and make sure im right? If your going for all out loud your first box is a better fix than than tuning to 30-32. 30-32 is going to decrease you output based on what ISD is showing.

im building the box not for me but for a friend that wanted a sh*t load of bass out of the 2 10's in a 06 monte carlo. He wants alot of low end or the most out of his 10's without going pure SPL.

Id tune them to 28hz if it was me...def. nothin above 35hz for sure...Type Rs like it on the low side.

For me Low End makes it seem like theres more to them than there really is..if that makes sense..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
