2 subs no bass, 1 sub bass

I have a 2 channel 600w sony xplode amp capable of 2 speakers and 2 subs. I had 2 subs (500w each) hooked up to it with LBF on (LBF off makes the subs sound like giant 3 way spekers) and there's barely any bass coming from them. I can hear drum kicks well but they just sound like someone punching a wall. When I only have one plugged in it sounds like it should.

I and my brother who did the wiring have no idea why it's doing this. I thought it might be because only 250w-300w are going to each sub but even with say, 40% power going to just the one sub it sounds fine.

Any help would be awesome

If they are wired wrong there's a good chance that the negatives and positives got crossed at one point. This will cause one sub to move outward while the other moves inward. This difference in phase causes cancellation and makes it sound quiet.

It's a 600w sony xplode 2/1 channel amp. I couldn't find it on sony's page and I don't have the box anymore. I bought it last summer so it's new. The subs are just 500w duals.

With the mixed up wiring- both work fine on their own. It doesn't matter which one is hooked up jst when they're both hooked up at the same time.
