2 Subs 1 Amp Question

ok i have 2 Alpine Type R's both 1500 watts max, and an amp that puts out 1200 watts.. does the wattage from the amp get cut in half to both speakers or does that full 1200 go through both subs

That's why I was asking, if it's max it might be putting out just 600w.

It'll only push 200 TOTAL.

# 200W x 2 RMS into 4 ohms

# 500W x 1 RMS into 4 ohms

these are the numbers you need to pay attention to!

and realize the subs are 500wrms each

That's a 500 watt amp, a piece of crap, and not a very good match to those speakers at all. Tossing darts randomly at a list of amps would likely yield a better choice.

Dang it, another one bites the dust.

I'm so tired of companies like Sony's Xplodisms marketing off max power and then screwing the new comers.

But maybe I shouldn't blame the company.
