Yeah, the impedance doesn't mean anything, as far as performance of the speaker goes. Two speakers are the same, the 4 ohm speaker, is no different than the 2 ohm version, except for the resistance they present.
So if your amp is like this
1 x 1500 watts @ 1 ohm
1 x 1000 watts @ 2 ohm
1 x 750 watts @ 4 ohm
Putting the 2 ohm speaker on to this amp would be the best choice, because you get an extra 250 watts that way. In all instances, a lower impedance will yield more power, unless your amp is strange. But all amps can't handle low impedances. Like for instance, if the above amp was only stable down to 4 ohms, you'd have to use the 4 ohm speaker with the amp.
So, the subs you choose, are totally dependent on what you're powering them with... What amp and subs were you planning to use?
