2 or 4 ohm dual voice coil subs for mono amp?

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my subwoofer setup in my Mustang.

I am interested in getting a pair of Alpine R-Type 10" subs. These are dual voice coil woofers that come in a 2ohm and 4ohm variety.

I was also looking at using an Alpine MPR-M1000 monoblock amp to power the pair of subs.

My question is this: Which ohm rating of subs do I need to get to have the amp properly power the set?

I do apologize for the novice question. No, I will not be installing these myself, I am just trying to get better understanding of the technology involved.

From the product listings it shows: Speaker Impedance: 4 or 2 Ohm

you would want the dual 2ohm to get the most out of them with tht amp... i would post the link but not sure how but crutchfield.com has easy sub wiering diagrams that will help

it produces full power at 2 ohms,get two dual 2's

personally i would buy one 15" unless you already have the 2 10" box. if you go with one sub, you need a dual 4 ohm with the mrp-1000
