2 or 4 ohm dual voice coil subs for mono amp?

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my subwoofer setup in my Mustang.

I am interested in getting a pair of Alpine R-Type 10" subs. These are dual voice coil woofers that come in a 2ohm and 4ohm variety.

I was also looking at using an Alpine MPR-M1000 monoblock amp to power the pair of subs.

My question is this: Which ohm rating of subs do I need to get to have the amp properly power the set?

I do apologize for the novice question. No, I will not be installing these myself, I am just trying to get better understanding of the technology involved.

Thank you kindly for reading this.

Thank you for the replies gentlemen.

I do apologize for the novice question. Trying to get a better understanding of what everything actually does rather than just purchasing what the installer recommends. =)
