2 ohms to 1 ohm reset gains??

if i re wire my sub to 1 ohm vs 2 ohms will i have to reset my gains with a dmm? going from 600w to 1k on an apsm 1300.

Yes u need to, but if u are capable of running it at 2ohm it is impossible to run it at 1 ur

You can't. A sub that wires to 2 ohms will likely be a d1 or d4, so it can only be wired to 8 or 2. So what sub and what impedance on the coils?

Ur sig says D2 so I would assume thats what u have so u can wire at 1ohm or 4ohm. So u may be wired at 4ohm now and wanting to go 1ohm. Thats what I assume u mean.

Technically the answer is no. The gain is used to match the INPUT level which in your case is not changing, your simply changing the amount of power output based on the impedance the amplifier sees.

My buddy wired it for me. but it has a negative and positive wired across the sub on both sides. the a negative on one side running to the amp and a positive running from the other side to the amp. so 2 ohms? ill post pics in a couple mins. and I'm pretty sure its a d2.

mine looks like the second one but has a wire ran between the positive and negative on the left.
