2 ohm Kappa rating?

If I have a 2 ch. amp (Rockford Power Series) that is 1 ohm stereo stable, do you think 4 sets of the 62.9i's would be pushing it? I only ask because someone said they were closer to being a 3 ohm speaker. If not 4, what about 3 sets? What true ohm load do you think the amp will really see? To all of those who believe Infinity Kappas are "true 2 ohm speakers" I present to you:

If this were a true 2 ohm speaker, as the box says, the DC resistance would be in the 1.6 ohm range. Why do you think Infinity rates their speakers at 2 ohms, yet claims they are 4 ohm compatible?

When you say "4 sets" do you mean 4 pair as in 8 speakers OR 4 speakers?

2+2=4(2speakers)

2+2=4(2speakers)

4/2=2(2sets of 2 bridged)

2/2=1(2 sets of 4 bridged)

there goes your 1 ohm i believe

but i have not been to sleep yet and its 9am so someone else might wanna double check that

You could try paralleling 4 per channel because with impedance rise, I think you would be OK. Just watch the amplifier for signs of overheating or other stress related problems.

If you want to play it safe, series 2, series another 2, then parallel them on each channel. Then again, this is ca.com.... who plays things safe here!
