2 ohm bridge

well it is at 2 ohm stereo and probaly will stay there for awhile. till i go to the db drag and put up some numbers no one has ever seen with a 760 amp. cuz not to many around know what is good sh*t is what kinda box is best. i think it will be able to do it for short periods of time. it has done it for 10 minutes at a time and maybe even could of gone longer but i am pretty happy right now.

u don't know how to get a 2 ohm load outta two 4 ohm svc subs? lmao

I do but not on the seperate channels. Are your's on the seperate channels? How did you do it?

I can get 2 ohms when two are overlapped on the same channel but not on seperate channels.

EDIT: In the manual, it says the AMP is capable of 190Watts RMS / Channel (Stereo) in 2 Ohms mode. In 4 Ohms mode, the maximum wattage is 125Watts RMS / Channel (Stereo). Without bridging, how do I obtain 2 Ohms with stereo (Both Channels used). If I place each sub on each channel, thats gonna be 4 ohms right? If I place both subs on one channel then were looking approx 95Watts RMS per sub which is worse than 2 channels stereo (125Watts RMS).

Please help me out, I want 2 ohms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

dude. i think this is right and someone correct me if i am wrong. just wire positive from sub to the postive of a channel. same with the negative. then the same with the other sub and channel. that is ur 2 ohm load.

again correct me if i am wrong

So if your saying wire each sub to it's own channel, then no that's not a 2 ohm load. Since his subs are SVC 4-ohm, the amp would see a 4-ohm STEREO load. Now, if he hooked up both subs together (meaning both positives from the subs and both negatives from the subs, all on the bridged channel)then you would see a 2-ohm MONO load. It's not possible to get a 2-ohm STEREO load with 2 SVC 4-ohm subs.

Hey, don't feel bad. Before i joined this forum i thought my amp was running at 2-ohms because i had the gains high!! But yeah, a SVC 4-ohm woofer to each channel would produce a 4-ohm stereo load. Just remember: Stereo= 2 channels, Mono=1 channel. Now, if he put both subs on one channel then it would be seeing a 2-ohm STEREO load. Mono load is acheived when you combine both of the channels (bridging the amp). If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Wow - thread when nowhere and got there in a hurry.

Running a mediocre pioneer amp at 2 ohms bridged will gain you little if any power (as someone said earlier - tests have shown that in some cases it will actually REDUCE power output of an amp), and will cause extreme stress on the amp. Will it survive? Maybe, maybe not.

I attribute the significant increase in output you hear to psychoacoustics - no offense intended.

Running an amp 4 ohms bridged is exactly the same stress on the amp as 2 ohms stereo - Running 2 ohms bridged is exactly the same as 1 ohm stereo.

Question for the wise..

Isnt running three way out a 2 ohms bridged combo? The Manual states a Tri mode which consists of two 6x9s (one on each channel) and a sub woofer bridged between the two channels. Wouldnt the sub bring the load down to 2 ohms?

Ok, another question...

Say I wire the negative of one sub to the positive of the second sub, and have only one sub attached to the amp, if I bridgedm wouldnt it result in 4 ohms bridged? or would I end up with 8 ohms load on the amp?

So what your saying is take the + from channel 1, to the + on sub 1, the - on sub 1 to the + on sub 2, then the - on sub 2 to to the - on channel 2? If you did that it would be a bridged 8-ohm load.

i feel like shit. i am so dumb. i thought i was so good. lol ****. so i need some 4 ohm dvc subs. 2 of them wire them in parallel on each channel and i will get 2 ohms. i would of done that if i knew that in the first place. **** **** **** **** **** **** ****

think bout it. since i am from nebraska and no one knows jack shit like me then i could sell these subs for like 150-200 bucks cuz everything round here sells at retail prices. so retail for these 2 subs would be like 260 and i didn't even pay 100 bucks for them. think bout if i actually won a db drag and then i say i am selling my subs. everyone would want them. i think. i am still dumb. just like the rest of the farmers of nebraska.

NAh, keep those subs..

What I plan to do is since this is my first AMP, I plan to bag it for a couple years untill I can afford a Rockford Fosgate AMP that can push 350Watts RMS per channel //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

$900 Canadian should get me a amp like this right?

OK jbl_marshall21

,

I think you are the man that can help me out. What am I doing wrong?? I got the same setup as you except I'm using two 15"ers. I want mine to setup exactly like yours. Can you help? My AMP for some reason cuts out when both subs are connected to the amp. Is there a special way you hooked yours up??

I'm scared to think there is something wrong with the amp now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
