Finally got around to staining my birch box that holds two maw-15s powered by a California 2000w amp. Sounds amazing, blows away my old L715s. Very happy with the stain look but could use a gloss finish...

why does everyone that stains their birch or whatever box never cover up the edges of the wood. looks like shit imo. if you are gonna stain a box i think that you should either use miter joints or a locking miter joint so only the face of the wood is exposed

I like to just veneer the entire side with the joint then flush cut.

holy raptor jesus is that stained with a shooting victim?

Can you explain? I don't like the edges either, the box wasn't built with stain in mind i had been using it as un-covered birch for months now and got bored one day.... If I were to do it again I'd def work on getting just the faces exposed and take the time to make a glossy finish. I made the screws as deep as possible, filled them with filler, sanded and stained...

i totally agree with twisted on this one. nice try on the stain but looks like shit to me. seriously. should have left it bare birch. its sexy that way. or maybee a satin clear finish.
