HI ok so I am going to run some good 6.5 coax in front and some 5 1/2 components in the back. I have two dvc 8" subs for the trunk. so for all of this would I need two 4 channel amps? not sure if i have the cash now, almost thinking of buying the cheap amps. Its just a honda civic with a small battery so If i do get 2 4 channels, I would just want low powered ones (i'm a sq guy anyway and like my current alternator) (could I just run the two subs off an amp, and use the alpine head unit to power the highs and mids? does my alpine HU have a sub pre-out)/ my car mechanic is going to do the install (he knows how to wire and will do it for almost free so i dont know what sorts of outs the HU has) can anyone reccomend a low cost low power 4 channel amp new or used? thanks again-

The information you've given is useless. Answer the following questions so someone can help you.

1. Have you purchased anything yet?

2. What's the model # and voice coil config of your 8" subs?

3. What's the model # of your head unit?

4. What's the model # of your components and coaxials?

Order a decent pair of components for your front doors, cheap coaxials for rear fill and a 4 channel amp.

For example:

components: Rockford Fosgate Power T152S 5-1/4" Component Systems - eBay (item 350314565737 end time Mar-09-10 21:29:51 PST)

Rockford Fosgate T152S 5.25" 2-way component system (100 watts rms per side @ 4 ohms) $100 shipped.

coaxials: Rockford Fosgate P152C 5.25" Full Range Speakers NEW!!!

Rockford Fosgate P152c 5.25" coaxials (40 watts rms each @ 4 ohms) $40 shipped.

amplifier: MB QUART DSC4125 1000W 4-Channel Amplifier: VMInnovations.com

MB Quart DSC4125 4 channel amp (125 x2 @ 4 ohms + 500 x1 @ 4 ohms) $132 + shipping.

You'll want to install the T152S components in your front doors, powered by the two front channels of the DSC4125. The P152C coaxials will be used for rear fill, powered by the cd player. Your 8" ED subs will be wired to 4 ohms and powerd by the bridged rear channels of the DSC4125.

- The T152S components are well built and sound pretty nice. They're a great deal for $100 shipped.

- The P152C coaxials aren't necessary. You seem to want to plug speakers wherever they'll fit, so I linked some speakers.

- The DSC4125 will easily provide enough power for this system, and it has enough headroom for an inevitable upgrade.

This is a much better direction than you were originally heading...
