I think the point here is that someone who doesn't know how to set their gains properly blew a sub, and in claiming that it's the subs fault.

Obviously, at that point, his opinion means shit, and that's the end of the story

in a sealed box they indeed can handle 1000 watts each. not only that as was stated earlier on this thread nothing wrong with having head room

Well what you think I gave it 2000 watts each. Trust me I gave it the recommended watts and it blew. I might not be 50 years old but I know how to setup equipment.

look on a serious level look at what others have said and tried to explain. might not change your experience but it should let you see how it could have been better and learn more about set ups rather than just your own now. noone is trying to say one is better than the other just saying there might be better ways of setting thing up.

haha. I am not admitting shit! I just pointed out my side of the story! Its not my fault the woofer blew up. Woofer might have been defective. It wasn't my gain so you can quit blaming me! Trust me If I didn't know how to setup the gains I would have blew up all my woofers. I had many woofers before the Idmax! Its very easy to notice the speaker reacing its limits. It starts to smell you hear it pop etc..So please stop trying to blame shit on me..

the idmax doesn't like full power they need to be broken in. that post just says that you slowly turned up the gains and fed your iDmax's 1600w, same as your JL 13w7 *maybe a little more*

before that, you clearly stated you set the gains to 1000w w/ a dmm before stating you turned up your gains.

different boxes have different power handling depending on the sub. subs are electro mechanical not JUST electrical
