Would it sound awful if you had 2 differnt amps hooked up to 2 subs? Right now my bro has 2 kicker cvrs running off a mtx 4250, he also has that Ultimate amp. hes wondering if he can hook up the ultimate and have 1 amp per sub. The ratings are roughly the same i beleive if the ultimate is bridged. Also if it works, would he need a distribution block?

You would need a distribution block to run two diffrent amps. As far as one sub per amp if they were the same amp it would be perfect but running two diffrent amps to two subs im not sure if i would do that.

u dont need to get a dist block.

u can just splice a run of 0/1 into the amps...its like havin 2 8guage wires

hmmmm so its not worth trying? His is a prety basic install, the amp is bolted to the back of the box and its up against the backseat so u cant see anything except the box itself.

If you wont it to look redneck do that, otherwise get a distribution block. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

If you do the " splice a zero guage" you're gonna have ***** wires, ***** wires equal not good. A disto. block only cost $8 .

Myself i dont like using tape because if you leave your vehicle out in the sun and gets hot, the tape is going to get hot and melt, so it wont really fix the problem.
I may be wrong, but isnt electrical tape made for higher temps, reason being why it is used for electrical and to keep the wires from burning or catching sparks?

edit: wording sounds bad, but hopefully the point is put across to what I was trying to get at
