2 channel or 4 channel

How many people prefer to use 2 channels to run their mids and highs rather than 4 channels? If you use a 2 channel, do you bridge the front speakers together for a 2 ohm load to the left or right side and rear speakers together for a 2 ohm to the opposite side. I am trying to match amps and I can only get a 2 channel from ZED Audio. Will their be a lost in sound quality from bridging the speakers for 2 ohms drawing full power out of the amp rather than using them out of a 4 channel and drawing only 1/2 the power. It has been about 8 years since I have used a 2 channel.
