2-Channel Amp Question!

If you've got a two channel amp that puts out... say... 300 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms, and wire a sub to just one of the channels, would that give you the same result as hooking it up to a 300 watt x 1 amplifier, and leave you with room to add another sub later?

basically. 300 watts is 300 watts.

If the amp bridges....then yes...u will see that wattage..otherwise, u will only see half the wattage i believe.

***also note you shouldn't hook up a sub in stereo it should only have a mono signal, because bass tones are sent out as a single wave.
