2 amps question

Hey, I have a question about using a distro block to hook up two amps. One is an Eclipse XA1000 (480 RMS mono (for subs)) and the other is a sony xplod (50 rms 4 channel (for front comps)). What gauge wire should I use for this setup? Also do I need a distro block for the grounds, or can I ground them separately?

I've never done a two amp setup before so any other tips would be appreciated.

i'd go at least 4 guage from the bat back. then a d block going down to 8 guage. but keep in mind you can fit 4 guage into that eclipse amp so you could also go 2 guage or 1/0 back then dblocked into 4 guage. that way if u ever add on you already have the wire ran and won't need to change it.. and yes you can ground in seperate areas.

Alright, I think I'll go with a 2 to 4 gauge block, is there any certain brand you would recommend?

And as far as the wires themselves, I've heard people say good things about Knukoncepets (sorry if i butchered that spelling), should I look into them?

Wait, do I need a distro block, or would this setup work: keep the 4 channel on the 6 gauge wires that I already have and run the eclipse on some 4 gauge wires (just hooking both power wires onto the battery terminal?

What is the reason for using a distro block?
