2 amps, 3 DVC subs

I am looking at getting another Punch 200ix. I have 3 HE2's. I am wondering if I can hook them up like this and still have it sound right. (Will a seperate amp to each VC cause cancellation?) Each amp will se a 1.33ohm load.

In theory it should work but I have never seen it done before, I am curious to see if it would work

Each voice coil being on a different amp wouldn't cause cancellations. I have done that part before with 1 sub 2 amps . But I have never tried what your saying. IMHO I would have to say. As long as the impedence of the subs were equal. The power output of the amps were pretty close to equal. And the gains were set correctly on both amps. It would work. What about the THD at such a low impedance?

You won't be able to tell. The impedence you have is going to change dynamicly with the music. Therefore rarely will your amp see 1.33ohm. IT will usually be higher than that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Good news!!!

I talked the guy into selling me the amp. I am going to try hooking up this way some time this weekend. I'll post my findings.

I think I am running the subs at too low of a power with only one Punch 200ix. I think it will sound pretty good with two at 1.33ohms a piece.

Well, I finished installing the amp and it sounds great!

I think I am go to shop around for a larger alt. My lights blink ridiculously!

2 Punch 200ix's at 1.33ohm each with a stock 80 amp alt. The bass draws so much power the headlights almost turn completly off while driving. I imagine it looks pretty silly going down the road, but I am afraid to drive with it like this because I don't want to fry my alt. and be straded.
