2 & 4 ohm

I have a amp that Iwould like to run the front channels at two ohms and the rear channels at 4 ohms. Is that safe to do, or will it kill the amp. The reason for this is my two subs are 8ohm wire down to 4ohms. The amp is an Niche Audio NA880E and the subs are Tang Band W69-1042J 6"x9" 90watts rms. My amp can only do about 70 at 4ohms but 110 at 2ohms. Or is there away to wire these subs down too 2ohms?

it's fineis it a 4 ch amp?

what all is it running?

How are you getting down to two ohms with a pair of 8 ohm speakers?
Yes it is a four channel amp. It is running componets in the front and two ways in the back all at 2ohms. But I am pulling the 6x9's from the back and replacing them with the two 6x9 subs that are 8ohms each. I can only get them down to 4ohms. I was wondering, was there away to get them down to 2ohms.

What do you mean by "get them down to four ohms?"

I would wire the subs parallel for 4 ohms and bridge the amp. You'll get the most power possible to the spkrs while keeping the amp within its limits of stability.

Power at 4 ohms briged = power at 2 ohms stereo.

The subs are 8 ohms each. I was trying to lower the ohms, I can lower them to 4 ohms without a problem. You did memtion that Iam able to run the amps front two channels at 2ohms and the rear two channels at 4ohms. If the subs cannot keep up with the front stage I will run everything at 4ohms. Thanks very much for your time and responses...

WTF are you talking about? You can't choose what impedence the front speakers run at. What speakers do you have? You can bridge the rear channels and wire the subs in parallel to achieve a 4 ohm load. But you can not choose if the front speakers run at 2 or 4 ohms. It's just not possible.

Wow... I have no idea what I am doing, that is why I posed the question. So I can run the rear at either 2,4 or what ever wiring options I may have. The same wiring options do not exist for the front. Thanks in advance for your helping hand and guidance...

OK, first off, what components do you have? What amp do you have? You can only hook up the comps one way. One set to each fron channel. The subs can be wired in parallel for a 4 ohm load. The rear channels on your amp can be bridged at 4 ohms for max power.

Here's how to wire the subs. The diagram you need is on the top right.

Wire the subs like that, then put the Pos. wire in the Pos. terminal on the right rear channel of the amp. Put the neg. sub wire in the neg. terminal on the left rear channel of the amp.

I **** at MS Paint, but this should help some:
