The punch would be from a ported box.

My box is ported and it's built to Alpine's specs for a ported box for my sub. Does it have to do with the tuning of the box? Mine's at 33hz. How is that for tuning? I know that tuning makes it where the sub will sound it's best at, but I dont REALLY know what that means.

33hz is a good tune. Mine is 33hz

Lower 30's are for rap, higher 30's are for rock. HIGH tuning is for SPL.
