This is my first true build since my first build was stopped about 75% into it since i sold one of my avalanche 18s then a little while later sold the last one. Loyd told me to do 12 cubes net with 150" port 18" long (~35hz) so here is the plan i came up with ... 48" wide, 19" high (window line), 37.5" deep ... double layered all over. Also, i decided to be creative and do a changeable port similar to meades. Here's the sketch i designed of what it would come out to look like

I probably spent 15-20 hours on this build BEFORE the actual box began to be assembled since i had to perfectly plan everything, cut, double layer (glue, predrill, countersink, screw), and not to mention i'm somewhat of a perfectionist and my gdad is the biggest perfectionist i know and one of the best wood workers around my whole area.

Since i don't have any pictures of the layering the peices i'll start with the first step i took to start assembling the peices ... went ahead and drilled the holes for the bottom of the box and countersunk them a nice depth

I forgot to take a picture of the first side on but heres a few pics of the left side and back peices assembled

Next, i added the front peice and right side

The port is a bolt in (3/8" 2.5" bolt with washer and 3/8" Tnut on the backside) I haven't glued and screwd the port onto the front peice but you guys should get the idea. I used some 3/4" weatherstripping thats 5/16" tall.

I routered my terminal holes and sub holes ($%#@$ DD since its 14.25 and not 14" cutout ... found this out the hardway)

i also used 10-32 tnuts from parts express...too bad their security screws arent long enough to go through double layered.

I bet that heavy boy is an instant 3" Lowering kit for the rear of your car lol...
lol x2 mine was about a 1.5 in drop in my tahoe //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks for the quick posts but i'm using 2 2500d and all the rest is in my sig...lol this is actually my first system since my "first system" was temporary in a friends box (bamaboy's old mt18 box) until i sold the 18 shortly after so i'd have to say it's prob going to be the nicest first time build and system i've seen. it should be with all the patience, saving and time i've put into this...oh yea, its going in a 98 4x4 4-door tahoe. hopefully since its 4x4 the drop wont be TOO bad in the back...if it is i'll add 2 in blocks in the rear.

just mainly made this post to kinda introduce myself since i havnet posted much except trying to sell my stuff but hope this gains a little respect since i'm still new to posting on here since all i usually do is read.
