2 - 15" or 4-12" ??

popwar,i just was on your youtube channel.

and was watch the vid with 4-18" and 20k .

damm that was getting down.

you still running that system?
No I have a bunch of my team mates setups on my youtube. That was 4 Tantric HDD 18s on 2 Taramps HD10ks and stock alt at the time. Really low voltage.

I have videos of my setups on there though but my current one is in my sig.

i don't think so man. i used to hang with josh bradley(had the 6 ED 12s) and ben signal(had the 8 ED 15s on 8 lunar 200x2s)
Gotcha. Yea I went there to pick up my Tantric SHD 21"s. I was amazing by all the crops of sugar cane and vast nothingness out there lol.

that drawing is to scale.. it all fits b //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif see the yellow squares? that the actual size of the square washers and the woofer are to size as well..
yes i see them.

maybe i was reading it wrong but i was thinking you were saying use the rods and wood in between the set of subs.

and was like how... lol

sould i also do rods from top to bottom ? 2 rods ?

and your right about the wood. just did not want to spend $800 just in wood..

but it will be better and lighter for sure. so ill have to swing it some how.

where did you go? lafayette is a pretty nice size city. about the size of Tallahassee (lafayette is grown into the surrounding areas so its alot larger than the wiki posting says kinda like dallas/fort worth) and about 200k peeps in Lafayette and the surrounding area. the traffic is so **** bad.. jesus.. i'm from cade.. where you can walk outside into the back yard and hunt.. lol.. i live in Lafayette now though

yea id brace the top and bottom with a 2x4 instead of the rods so it can sit flush on hte floor.. i think 1 would be enough.. dead center of the box.. or you can use the round dowels like hte other guys here do but the 2x4 is ahell of alot stronger and you can sand it to round it off so it lowers resistance..

this is what i mean about putting peaces in the corners in the box.. you cna do it with hte port too but its not going to affect it greatly as you have PLENTY port area but if you thnk your skilled enough give it a shot..

on this box i just sanded the corners of the port and put some fiberglass resin in the corner or the port and let it dry propping the box up in a manner that it saturated the corner making it rounded abit..

ok i got it now.. thanks.

but 1 more for now.

im a little confuses about the port.

this is waht you said.

bottom 42W(internal)x5(internal;double baffled)Hx15L and 5(internal;double baffel as well)x12 for the L portion..

so i know its 42" wide inside

5" high inside

but not sure the total length.

and it needs to be an L-port . and i know the back portion needs to be 5" as we need to keep the port the same.

but not sure total of port.

is it 15" deep the go into the L ? if so how high up ?

thanks buddy....

Whoops. Wrong L city. I went to Labadieville. lol

yes money. it will go up the back of the wall. its gonna be 12" long up the back the wall.. i suggest if anything you put a 45 degree sut on the conrer of the port on hte outside so no air gets "trapped" there if you need ill sketch it up for ya..

ok great..

so just to make sure i got it right...

15" back , 12" up.

that would make it a total of 32" port. thats inside line of the port.

and ok ill make a 45 on the front side of the port wall.

should i make it the size of the pic ?

and thanks for the renderings, that really help as im a visual type of guy. lol

**** i made a mistake i forgot to subtract 1.5 from the port so 12-1.5(thickness of the port).. so you can make it 10.5 long.. or you can keep it a round 10"

Id make it at least 6 inches wide.. one it starts coming together you can adjust it to be bigger..

so thats for the L portion of the port?

im totally lost... sorry. im in the process of making a sketchup box and its really looking good.

ill post a snapshot when im done.

so keep the 15" for the bottom of the port and do 10.5" up the back wall ( L portion )?

so total would be 30.5 right.

ya i would be right, keep the 15" on the bottom and change to 10.5" up the back wall.

so if im changing the length what would my tuning be ?
im going to make the L portion of the port removable.

so i can change it out to play with tuning.

sound good?
the length of the L i told ya 12, but the thickness of the port wall is 1.5 and i didn't account for that thats why i said 10"s.. yea you could remove it easily.. place a "track" around the port made of wood that you can screw the port to instead of directly into the box. once you pull the L portion out you could put some small peacies of wood to change your air space.. without the L portion would be 14 cubes tuned to 42. abit too high

with the l portion being 5" long its 13.35 tune to 38 and with it 10" long its gonna be right around 35hz.. thats with the port double baffel and the braces in the port and the 45 degree cuts for the corner.. the corner peace in the port like i drew up is very important its gonna help greatly..

its gonna be strong enough to drop some HDC3s with 2k per driver in there if you want later on..
