2 12's Ported or 2 15's Sealed

I just bought a new car and need to redo my subs and enclosure.

Here is my question..

I have a 1250 watt @ 1ohm Rockford Fosgate T1000bd

With my 1250 watts what would be better....

2 12's in a ported box around 3.5 cu ft

or

2 15's in a sealed box around 5 cu ft.

I am planning on getting SA 12's or SA 15's. Just wondering which would be best. Both speakers are rated at 600rms. I am sure they can take more, and maybe down the road I can get another amp. But for now I have the Fosgate T1000bd to work with.

If the recommendations are for the ported. Anyone have a basic box layout? I built one for my Explorer, but the height is too much for the trunk.

I was thinking something similar to

SQP212 - Ground Shaker 12" Dual Ported Box

# 12" Dual Ported Box

# 3/4" MDF Construction

# Volume: 1.8 cu. ft. Per Chamber

# Width: 32"

# Height: 13.5"

# Depth: 19.25

But I would build it myself. If those are good for the SA12's then all I would need to know is where to add some in order to get some bracing in there and maintain the cu ft.

I am looking to make this move around February when taxes get here...if the gov is still giving taxes, lol.

Thanks for any help. I really do appreciate it!

I will be searching to see if I can get any answers that way as well.

Well....looking around maybe even the SA12's in a sealed box? I listen to all types of music. Rock, Rap, Metal, Bass.

When I have subs in I probably listen to Rap/Bass 70% and Rock/Metal 30%. If that would alter anyones opinion as to which setup would be the best.

I am staying with Sundown SA subs though.

Also, I am not looking for SPL. I want these to get loud, but not sound like crap doing it.

Here is what I came up with....

Can anyone tell me if this would be accurate for 3.5 @ 30hz.

Wood = .75

W = 36

H = 15

D = 18

Port 1 = Length 14.25

Port 1 = Width 3

Port 2 = Length 7

Total port length 26.5

It shows this would be 3.8 @ 29.99

Figure with some bracing that would come down closer to 3.5?

If your using 6by6's for bracing then ya it would take you down about 0.3 cubes. I couldn't imagine bracing taking up more than 0.1 cubes. So I would say more around 3.7.

That is unless you factored in the displacement of the drivers and that's how you got 3.5, then yes 3.5 would sound about right.
