2 12s or a solo 15 sub

Okay so my buddy is wanting me to piece together an amp/sub setup for his Christmas present. His car is a 2006 mustang so i was telling him to do the 1 15 instead of 2 12s for more space in the trunk be he wants the option for both. I've been out of the game a while so if anyone has a setup thatll be close to a xfl 15 on about 1k watts, that'd save me some time. His budget is around $500 for amp/subs/wires and i haven't really found an amp to pair with 15 or at least one im set on yet so if anyone has a good opinion on that it'd be great too. Whats his goals for the system? Also what he has now isnt bad at all. He could up his power a little bit on the xfl to about 1500-1800 and it will play fine

I run two DD 1508s in my 06 Saleen Mustang ported and an amp rack in the spare tire well ....I’m wanting to redo something with the amps behind rear seats ..but that setup puts a hurtin’ To ya ..it’s not as loud as my single DD 9912z on a DD M4 at 151.9 but it’s still loud and low

I had a cheesy power acoustic 2500D rzr1 laying around and put it to work on my Ampere Audio 3.0 15 and cranked the gain almost 100% (about 680rms) and shit im pretty impressed with its power.  Might just have to pick up another and throw two at the sub beings it’s a DVC
