(2) 12" Type X enclosure

i know soul is working on this (at least i think so), but anyone else have thoughts or suggestions? i'm not going to seal the trunk off, or build a sealed box but all other ideas are welcome and appreciated. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Here is one idea.

.75" mdf

16"h X 35"w X 17.75"d

three 3" (inside diameter) areo ports 13.4" deep each

4 cubes net tuned to 30hz

Definitely not an optimal box and I would not try anything smaller than this.

Ports and woofers aimed back, or ports back woofers up (assuming the woofers have

excursion clearance).

If we tune higher we can use two 4" areo's but at 30hz they are to long.

i'd really like to have it face the cabin, but i'll measure it and see how it fits. cant i use PVC like bones made the tutorial for? i've never used/made aeros before.

at 16" high nothing has any clearance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Then make it face the cabin ports and subs and see how it sounds.

Yep pvc is fine as long as it is exactly 3" internal diameter and the length

is what I specified. You got the stuff already anyway, time to get building.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i'd like to do it just once //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

and what if i can't fit it at 16" high? how would 15" do?

her is and idea here havnt read the whole thing but with 4" ports you can use elbows . if the 4" is to long slap an elbow on the ends of it and calculate the length needed left for a straight piece.

also do you have room to run externall ports? nothing drastic about 2-3" inches? somewhat like pioneer saturns box was like if you ever saw how he had the ports out about 2"??

yeah soul is that with a double baffle?
Hell no double baffle, that's valuable trunk space man!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif jco loves junk in the trunk

If I had my way this box would be 14" tall and 24is inches deep with lots

of port area and maybe double baffled.

You could do 4" with bends (elbows) but I'm not sure how to keep them stable

in there or how to calculate the length of the bend. You'll have to engineer that part:D

We have to account for any bracing solutions' displacement (deeper box).

The 4" areo ports have to be 15.5" deep including any bends.

If you want 15" tall, it's gotta be deeper still, but the deeper you go, the closer

you get to using 4" areos with no elbows! Anything over 19" deep should be safe.

very true the jco loves the donk! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yeah true if he doesn't want t go any deeper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif sry sry, then three 3" is the only way to go. two 4" is still more port area thou. i like port area.

wat?

so 3" ports or 4" ports?

what happened to this:
