2 12" type r ported box in a tight spot

Looking to see if a certain box for them is worth it in the area im putting it in..Subs and port will be firing upwards..I have 36w, 14.5 top to bottom and 18" front to back. If its not worth it i'll just get rid of the prefab sealed and build 1 to spec.

a box built to spec is always going to do better than a prefab.

that said, you have right around 4 cubes gross which will likely be to small for the pair ported.

Thanks for the responces guys..Guess i'll build a sealed to spec and toss the garbage thats in there now.

God i'm such a newb when it comes to ported boxes/design.

That would help alot. Subs faceing upwards, max dim's: 36 wide, 18 front to back and 14 top to bottom...I know i wont need all that space for a sealed but there ya go..Also i'd prefer the 18" to be closer to 15" since i have to go sealed.

4 cubes is enough for ported for type rs, they recommend 1.5 or so but i prefer them in 2 cubes each ported tuned to 34

the setup in his trunk is also less than conventional which brings up another couple issues that make ported less than ideal.

true, I just dont like type rs in sealed boxes lol, i guess its just my personal preference

Hmmm...you could probably fit an ideal ported box for a single 12 or 10 in that space. Just sayin you might get better sound in the long run. Peace.
