I'm still new to car audio.

I got a budget of $150 (not including shipping) and wanna buy my car some new speakers (6.5"). They'll be running off my headunit for the time being and i figured I'd look to people more knowledgeable for personal experience, opinions, and suggestions.

I'm looking at a couple, but again, i don't know much.

-Polk DB651

-Cadence ZRS65s

Can anyone give me their opinion on those, and i'm open to recommendations as well.

sorry for the newbie "what-to-choose" post.

well, never had any of those speakers. but IMO i love rockford speakers. always ran them no problems at all.Cant go wrong with them.
actually, i just put rockford primes in my friends truck. they were definitely an upgrade for him. hmm..

thanks for the suggestion/eyeopener. lol.

anyone know if woofersetc provides car-specific install guides like crutchfield? it would make me more comfortable buying the speakers from there if they do. lol.
I wouldn't buy from crutchfield either way.. Wayyy overpriced.

I havent heard anything made by cadence, but what I have heard from polk is impressive so i would go with those and the aesthetics are 10x better

i've noticed crutchfield's overpriced, i only bought my HU from them. Though I was happy with the "thank you" with the transaction, and the two follow-up "thank yous" a couple weeks after. No worries; I still have the install guide i got with the HU.

I look at woofersetc majority of the time, or try straight from the company.

Woofersetc sold the exact wiring kit to me for $60 that my local audio store wanted $125 for. lol.

I've heard things about cadence making solid stuff and I've actually heard rockfords, but I haven't heard anything else to compare them to, so between the three: rockford, cadence, and polk.. hmm..

i have 4 polk 6.5 coaxials sitting on a rack, they sound like every other to me, idk bout their components. I also have 65. punchs, burnt one of the coils off HU, idc for them, have the one good one sitting on the rack as well. never heard cadence but im pretty sure your in the market for 2 way components?

i'm lookin at coaxials actually, and ~$150 for the front and back. i should've specified, sorry about that.

The polks are $70/pair, rockfords are $70/pair, and the cadences are $75/pair.

If you adding in the Rockfords to the list, then I say they would be top choice.
