1OHM amps? rockford/kicker...

i was at my local alpine/ rockford dealer the other day... and i was looking for an amp to run my two alpine type R 12's Dual 4ohm ... at 1OHM.. so i was thinkin ya know 1000db Rockford or somethin along thoose lines.... and he told me that they "cut out" over heat" and just arent stable.....

NOW... i want to know why rockford makes there amps stable at 1OHM if they really arent... is this TRUE?? AND HAS ANYONE ELSE HERD OF THIS.... im looking to pound my subs with atleast 1000 TRUE watts... what else have u guys heard about this?

he told me to run 4OHM.. but what amps run 1000rms at 4OHM... and im thinking of buying two 2channell amps.. but id rather buy one ya know...

The older model rockfords werent stable to 1 ohm. Whats the specific one you were looking at?

I had a rockford T10001bd and I ran it @ 1 ohm all day long for months.. very solid amps.

the newer rockfords of course 1000db .. i hear they are very under rated ... but wont go all day long hammering my subs.... its either 1 OHM or 4 OHM and get two amps.. wich i DONT wanna do ... also i could buy a PDX1.1000... but they are heavy in price... well can be.

diamond audio d51200.1 I just sold one and their is one on here new in the box for sale. That amp is underrated, clean, and will make those type r's work.

dude you dont know what your missing. Mine made closer to 1500 watts and its cleaner then most class d's. I think i paid about 600 for it new. diamond audio is quality equipment.

The T10001bd is very efficient and quite underrated, definitely a solid amplifier.

kicker kx1200.1, anywhere from 1200-1600 at 1 ohm all day long

diamond IS mainstreet... have like 3 dealers within 100 miles of me.... been around quite a while...
