1989 Corvette w/Bose sound system

I have a 1989 Corvette that originally had the Bose sound system installed from factory,but the radio and rear speakers are gone along with the factory radio jacks; so all i have to work with is a set of wires that do not match the Haynes Repair Manual. I have got the speakers wired up but i cant be certain about others,can any body please help me?

While I cant tell you wire colors, I can tell you a multimeter is going to be your best friend here. With it being a factory Bose the first thing I would look into is...does it still have the Bose amp wired in it somewhere. You can test this by seeing if you cant find the speakers. Find the wires you think are the positive and the negative for the speaker and test the resistance on it. You want about 4 ohms if its something crazy high, those wires are connected to an amp, not directly to speakers. Being that only I would honestly just rip the amp out and run new wires, then you know exactly what wires are the speakers, as far as ground, constant, and ignition. Voltmeter testing will locate them

had this problem with a cobalt with the pioneer system, impossible to work with, just ran all new premium wires.

I agree with keep_hope_alive ..Save yourself some time,and a real headache,and run new wiring..This way you will know for sure what wire goes to what,and ect.Even the coating on the wire will be fresh,and not brittle,and exposed/damaged ect.Not a big vehicle,so the expense will be well worth it.
