1800 watts to 2 Type Rs

I have 2 10" Type Rs with .65 cubes a piece. I have read a thousand threads where peeps have put massive amounts of power to Type Rs but I tend to blow subs. If I set my gain with a DMM should I be pretty safe from blowing em? Also are there any other precautions I should take before putting this much power to em? Thanks guys

There are many others factors determining if you'll blow them or not, i.e. how long they're played, and the box.
I know and I intend to keep the volume down a lot more than usual b/c I usually wang all the time. And in a small sealed the sub should be able to handle the most power, right (in theory)?

Sounds to me like you're trying to push the envelope. I say go for it though.

I had two CVR's PORTED with 1200 watts on each one for a while (12's)

One lasted three months and the other lasted 5, and I beat the hell out of them...

I would totally try it if I were you.
