18" subs that work well in 4 cubes?

from what i've heard.
NSs dont get low enough in 4cube boxes tho.

I had mine in 5 each, and they were low end monsters, long as you have enough power to back it up, it should drop plenty low.

jacob was the one that told me 4 cubes was fine, but i haven't actually heard one in 4 cubes to tell you what it sounds like

I've also heard the nightshade will work in 4cubes ported, and sorry Dbeez but woofercooker is selling the base versions in the classifieds for 300 shipped fresh recone, dunno if you've got the beefed up ones or what.

looking into the nightshades now... have looked at the treos before but they are insanly expensive and have heard there consumer service sucks, so i think i'll pass.

i figured as much, I'm not sure what nightshades will take stock (1500-2k? i think) and OP didn't mention what he's using for power, but i see he's got 2 AQ2200's so if he's stickin with them then I dunno how modified of a shade he would need

When you factor in sub and port displacement, you will have considerably less than 4 cubes each. Go with a pair of 15's ported, pair of 18's sealed, or maybe look into a single 21. Otherwise you will be looking at throwing a ton of power at the 18's ported to have any chance at decent low freq extension.

Just out of curiosity, why does it HAVE to be a pair of 18s? If you don't have the room for 'em, why not put in some 15s and take 'em to their full potential.

treo ssx hands down. One 18" 3krms 4cuft box 147db at 38hz FTW!

i had an RE MT doing a 146.5 @ 46 hz iirc, with half that power....

and it was in 3.7 cubes ported
