id go with the Pioneer deck, they offer lots for the money and are probably in the top 3 with Alpine and Eclipse

and it doesnt get much better than Oz for off the shelf components

the RLp is awesome for spl/sq.. period

and JL, well they aint cheap but you get lots

I would spend the most $ on your front stage. I nice two channel and comps. If my budget were 1700 i would spend atleast 700 on front stage, Maybe some rainbows germs and a usamps 2 channel. next I would focus on a HU, I like eclipse, some people prefer alpine or pioneer. Doesn't really matter, get what you like, I would spend 300 out of the 1700 on that. so we have 700 left. I would call rick at raamaudio and get a roll of raamat, some of their ensolite foam. Now we have 550 left. Lets take 100 out for wiring and incidentals. My subwoofer choice would be an ID12 or IDQ12, you want a pair so I would go to soundomain and get a pair of one of those, about 200 shipped and then call ikesound and make sure they have an i/s 2200 in stock and order it. Make sure laura has it shipped and gives you a tracking number while on the phone. that is 150 and will give you 700 watts at 4 ohm, so now you have 100 to build a box. Have fun

those are cool but are spendy....if he was to do two he would spend half his budget...

thats my ignorance talking,i didnt know flatlines were that much money... but going off of stereotypes i dont think this guy should spend 700 on his front stage when there are a ton of options that still sound awesome and he might have money left over. "g-ride".. its like a 70 somthing model mecury.. its got 20's and an airbag system. this sounds like a type X system with rlp subs or maybe some diamonds but 700 for front stage for this guy seems like too much to me. I still say a arc xxk 4050 or 4150 and a xxk2500. and some dual rlpd4s and the type x comps and typer coax for rear fill.....but he is your friend what do you know that he has heard that he likes?

Im doing a bugget system for a buddy aswell..

Here is what I got set up for him..

Eclipse 8445 ($249 Ebay)

Alpine Type X ($199 Ebay)

Image Dynamics ID10 ($100)

(2) PG Octane R 2chl amps ($80 each Ebay)

If you got more to spend I would Drop it on amps & the Sub(Modding This Setup)

I like the new Sound spliter Subs (prolly going to get some 8's for my self)

Arc or Zapco Amps Are just killer..

the old skhool Zapco just Rocks..

id really look into this, the hu and amps have tons of features and sq to get the sound youre lookin for and the Oz Elites and RLp are hard to beat, esp for that kind of $

the Elites, instore go for $650 alone!!!

cool.. i like the pioneer hu's, may go that route.. as far as comps and rear coax's i have the like the boston pro's and will look into the oz and maybe a couple of others.. im planning on using a set of comps that can handle 100watts/each easly, so considering that what would you guys suggest?? as far as subs i guess image dynamics-jl-rlp are going to be the choices.. amps again will probably be jl or maybe a coupel of others.. man so many dam choices!!

Why must it be purchased online? Arent you going to a local shop? What does that shop carry? What do other local shops have to offer?
