What are farads for ?

I see some capacitors from 1 farad to 100 farads....

To answer your question: Its a measurment of how much storage capacity a capacitor is capable of. Kinda like a battery's AH rating.

But, don't buy a capacitor. You dont need it. Get a HO alt instead.

+1, although i am sure that caps have their place, it would seem that that would just put more of a strain on a probably already week electrical system.
