Sorry for title its a 2002 . . . Is this too much power for a 2002 V6 mustang ? the bass amp is turning off ! Its a hifonics Zeus 650x2 bridged @ 2ohm , and a Soundstorm 280x2 , on stock autozone battery (water) and stock alt ? suggested upgrades ? i was thinking maybe a yellow top ? but is the staock alt ok ?

im running 2200 watts on one extra battery and stock battery/alt and no dimming

1600 watts i can see dimming. I was running 1000 watts off my stock 140 amp alt, stock walmart battery, all 0 gauge, no big 3 done and a capacitor (just for volt meter) and I got very slight dimming on full tilt, went from 14.4 to around low 12s..

So on 1600 id ATLEAST have all 0 gauge, big 3 done in 0gauge and probably a little extra battery, like a hc600 or hc800..that should solve your problems.

Or i suppose you could probably try to fit the biggest battery u can under the hood..like a HC2000 or something if that'll fit would prob work nice without needing an extra. My truck only fits a hc1200 tho.

There's your problem, not the electrical. Your running to low of an ohm load for a 2 channel amp.

I'm running 1200 on stock battery, alt, and 2 AWG.

EDIT:: and big 3 in 4 AWG.

For that amount of power you should be able to get away with just the Big 3....

ok so big 3 for sure , i think the batt is junk , and i believe they sell a 130amp upgrade at autozone . so il see wut that gets us

i cant find the specs , i dont think 2ohm is too low tho . . edit they dont make this amp anymore but i guess its similar to the 1000 2ch which is saying its not 2ohm stable so maybe that is the prob, ill rewire an see
