I have always heard that 15's are deffinetly not the choice if you like rock. But is that entirely true. If you get a nice enough 15 and seal it wouldn't it do ok. Because I would like the deeper sound of a 15 for some rap.
If you listen to Classic Rock, like Floyd or Zepplin, then some of that stuff may not hit on 15's because those songs weren't designed with modern day equipment. It all depends on the box. Go sealed if you listen to rock on 15's. A great CD is Eagles - Hell Freezes Over. The production of that CD is just awesome, sounds great on a good system.I have always heard that 15's are deffinetly not the choice if you like rock. But is that entirely true. I believe that they had 15" drivers back in "those days"...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifthen some of that stuff may not hit on 15's because those songs weren't designed with modern day equipment.
Actually, I agree with that, the kickdrum will be in midrange territory. But as long as you have a low tuned enclosure (>28hz) or sealed it will sound fine. But if you are looking for that thump with the kickdrum you should upgrade your midbass.get a better midbass.
diddo. i run ava 15 @27hrz and i listen to mostly metal, sounds great. if its a quality 15 i dont think you have much to worry about. just make sure you got plenty of midbass and u will love it. and as stated above a lot has to do with the recording. dont expect every cd u pop in to hit like a cannon.Actually, I agree with that, the kickdrum will be in midrange territory.
