How does wattage in a power invertor work? RMS and PEAK? I have a Vector 1500W/3000W power invertor and wanted to know how it reaches peak and rms. I was trying to use a rice cooker one time with the car off and after 2 min. the invertor shut off. The rice cooker said t used 600W? I also tried to use a deep fryer that used 1600W and after 1 min. it shut off. I thought it could reach 3000W?

Heat buildup is likely the problem you are encountering.

RMS is a constant rating it's supposed to be capable of delivering.

Low voltage will drastically drop these ratings, you really should have your car running if you are using that monster, as that 1600W deep fryer is going to be consuming over 100A off your car if the vector unit can handle the demand.
