Whats up all just bought a pair of Treo SSI 12's from a local guy barely been used. I am thinking about what options I have and which would be the best. I am leaning towards a B stock Ed Nine.1. The SSIs have a Rms at 750 watts. I am looking to get close to 1500 watts but I could do with anything between 1300-1600 watts Rms and I am on a budget please do not suggest a orion 2500d (I had a JBL 2200.1 don't need that much power). Anyone have any reasonable suggestions for me to look at??

Thanks

Nice but all I have seen are overpriced for used equipment, treo amps. B stock Ed would be new and I think they come with a warranty too?!? Not sure. But I like the options keep it flowing.

if you have an amp that does 2.5kw use it. i've treid 1.6k on a pair and it's dissappointing. 2.4k +/- is where it's at.

used treo gear is more costly because of their durability. it's like trade in value of a toyota vs a yugo.

I don't have that amp anymore sold it a few months ago. So 1600 watts was disappointing?? I have heard they are decently loud on 1600 watts, what would you compare it to? That far over the rms cannot be good for the subs... I know they will take it but for how long. Anyone have experience with SSi's let me know what amp you have. Thanks for all the information! By the way I got a hell of a deal a bill for both of them local pick up only on ebay!

Thanks

Eric

i had an autotek mx5000 on a pair of ssi 10's in my wifes truck. then i tried my old autotek mx1300 on them. old class AB when they were still made by zed audio. rated for 375 x 2 @ 4 ohms, 1.6k @ 2 ohm mono +/-. and it was a monster of an amp. it bumped, but not to my satisfaction. i put the mx 5000 back on them. 2.4k @ 2 ohms.

i now have a mod'd AX 2000 on them (for about the last 6 months +). they've been getting way over their rated power for over 2 years. she doesn't push them like i do. on long trips, i rail the piss out of them for long periods. but i also know when they're getting too much. on the low, lows, they can't take full throttle. but with most music they love the power they have on them.

treo's are built very well and take a beating. i have quite a few guys running around with 1.2k + on a pair of tsx's all day for years with no problems. and they are only rated for 800 watt's for a pair of them.

as long as you're sensable with the vol, they will take well over their rated power and not get hurt.

So how much was that autotek? Got any other suggestions? What all did you have to do to the electrical system big 3, extra battery, isolator, fuses, etc.

Thanks Eric

the mx 5000 hasn't been made for a few years. it's from before maxxsonics bought them. i don't remember the exact price, i got it @ dealer cost. which went down considerably from the time they first came out with that model vs a couple years later. it was one of the 4 mx 5000's i was running in my vehicle. pushing 2 treo ssx 15's.

anyway, in the wifes truck i have the stock alt and no voltage problems. only an acceptable and expected, slight dip with the lights at night with initial bass hit. not a bad draw down.

i'm running a second battery, northstar 1700. it is 2/0 ground to the frame, 2/0 all the way to the amp, and amp is 2/0 grounded to the frame. 250 amp fuse. no caps, no isolator. one of these day's i'll throw in a 1700 in the primary spot to match. not "optimal" in theory to run mismatched batts, but it works just fine for now. you know how it is when it comes to your own projects. they always get put on the back burner to make way for everything else on the plate.

when i first took out the small system i had originally put in, i had 4 ga in there. the mx 5000 had major voltage problems. of course it was way too small for that power, i just didn't have time to revamp everything at once. when i upgraded to the 2/0, etc, no more voltage problems.

don't get me wrong, it'll hit loud and deep with 1.6k. it just won't reach it's full potential with that. there's lot's of good amps you won't go wrong with. i'd just suggest finding 1 or 2 that can total you 2k +/- .
