1500 RMS too much?

I'm fairly new to car audio to, but im sure 4 guage is a little small, I've got a 1000 watt RMS amp and run 1/0 guage. My altenator can keep up fairly well in stock form at higher rpm, but it sucks at an idle. Maybe somebody can back me up here.

K cool thanks. I'm pretty sure the wiring under the hood is pretty big already, but I will look tomorrow. (My car has a lot of shit to power with the air ride system, power seats, windows, locks, sun roof...) Then again all that probly doesn't need 1500 watts LOL

Oh well I guess that's not too bad if I'll be getting 1300 rms or so, that'll push the XXX, I still will feel like I'm not getting all I could be though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

actually I think your running 8ga from the battery to ground and Alternator and 10-12 ga on your engine to chassis ground. Something to look into. Will help your car all around charge better

Oh, and thanks for that link rukus, I think I'll do the big 3 tomorrow, I thought it was a bunch of expensive shit... but it's just wiring //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
