150 amp ALT enough?

For my Soundstream Van Gogh 800.5. It's the only amp I have in my system. Oh and the components channels are class a/b, and the sub channel is a class D (dunno if that matters).
BTW: my stock alt is rated at 80 amps

Thanks in advance

The 150 amp will be enough although you should consider spending a few more $ and get 180-200 amp alt. The difference in price is not huge and your set for future. Just my 2 cent.

The stereo in this particular will not be upgraded in the future, aside from the sub, and maybe the components. The only other accesories I have are fog lights.

Thanks for the response. Anyone else?

150 would be large enough. Chances are the stock alt might even be able to handle it no problem.
exactly people seem to think they need 200-300 amp alts and most of them have alot of overkill lol. big 3 and a good battery=probably will work very well. i have seen 2700 watt (true power) systems run fine on 120-130 amp alts.big 3 and battery will/should take care of dimming. my old system was about 1400 watts rms and i ran on a rebuilt 120 amp alt all amps were class ab. that system and my system now all soundstream amps my alt now i believe is 80 amp. measures about what an 80 amp alt should anyway lol

Thanks for all the help guys. Just bought the 150 amp from Alterstart for $229.00. I also got the lifetime warranty (my cars REV HAPPY 9500 rpms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif ) it was only 20 bucks more. My total came to $282.00 shipped. Man I can't wait for that bi*ch to get here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Plus there located in Dallas,Texas which makes it even better.

Any tips/tricks when installing or just install away. BTW how tight should the belt be when installing an alt. Don't want it to be to tight or loose?

Thanks again
