i asked Jacob the same thing and he said there really isnt a reason to feed it that much power. he said the sub will get quite loud off 1500 wrms

its because they are very effiecient subs i bet.

I know you say the BL sounded better musically... But how would you say the Nightshade compares to the BTL on music??

IMO Btls and NightShades sound similar on music.

think a nightshade 15 will be able to take a 3000d daily on music w/ gains obviously set conservitively?

The stock suspension is too soft for me to be comfortable saying that is okay. I can build re-cones for you later one that will be much more comfortable with that power level.

Thanks, would this be for SPL or more of a daily setup? Im willing to make two boxes and just switch them out when it comes to competition time

that would be a decently loud daily box....but for spl i would do 5cubes tuned 2 or 3 hz below ur incar frequency with a 85square inch port...and resin the inside of the box and use 3 6inch aeroports

I cant fit 5 cubes...2006 Honda Civic LX coupe..around 4cubes is the most I can do before I have a chance at plugging the airway from the trunk to the cabin. How do you tune the aeroports? I know different lengths but how do you know what length is what Hz? Im good with the slot port, not use to the the aeroported because I dont have a program for it. I just use the RE Enclosure Calculator. And can I find resin at any hardware store like home depot and lowes? Its a lacquer right?

You have your box sizes backwards. Big box daily and small box for spl.

The only way to find out what size box that you need to to TEST TEST TEST. There are no magic numbers in SPL, only rule of thumbs.

Ill just do about 3.5 cubes after displacement tuned to 37 or 38 Hz...

If you want a good all around box go with 3ft net and two 4" or one 6" port. Tuning is up to you but for daily I don't like anything higher than 36hz & prefer low tuning around 32-33hz.

Isn't 3 cubes too small though??? I was thinking before displacement, about 4 cubes tuned to 32 Hz for daily and about 3.5 cubes, maybe a little less tuned to 37or 38Hz for SPL
