So I've searched a bit and theres not too much info about the Sundown Audio Nightshade. How does it compare to a 15" Fi BL or BTL??? How musical is it and what numbers are people putting up with them? I have a chance at getting an AA Havoc for pretty cheap too but Im not sure if the Nightshade will get that much louder than the Havoc. Anyone with any experience with these subs, please help me out! thanks

I'll be going off of one 15" Nightshade with a SA 1500D amp so 1500 rms going to it to be more clear..what can I expect from that numbers wise then

Several customers are doing 150 - 151.8 dB with two Nightshade 15s and two 1500Ds without walls. So there is quite a bit of potential there. It shouldn't be a problem to do a ~145-146 burp score with just one and 1500-watts in a good setup.

Its all goin into a 2006 Honda Civic LX coupe. Right now I have my type r's doing close to a 145 so I'm hoping I might be able to get just a little bit more out of the Nightshade especially cuz it cost so much more compared to the Havoc and the type r's. I was talking to a guy from Ascendant Audio and he was saying around 1300-1500rms I will be gettin in the upper 140's with the Havoc. If thats the case, Id probably would rather save the money and go with the sub that is going to be more musical and get in about the same SPL range. What would be the optimal tuning and amount of cubic feet for a SPL box for the Nightshade to at least achieve a 146 or more?

The NightShades get loud very easy. With only 1500watts there isn't any doubt in my mind that a NightShade will get louder than a Btl. IMO my Bl 18s sounded better on music but the NightShade 15s are wayyy louder and thats w/ much less cone area off the same power. The Sundown saz-1500d & NightShade sub is a great combo. Actual spl #s are going to vary with install so I'm not making any guarantees there, but I know I can easily do 148s w/ a single 15/1500 combo.

I know you say the BL sounded better musically... But how would you say the Nightshade compares to the BTL on music??

think a nightshade 15 will be able to take a 3000d daily on music w/ gains obviously set conservitively?
i asked Jacob the same thing and he said there really isnt a reason to feed it that much power. he said the sub will get quite loud off 1500 wrms
