C0CK,its whats for dinner
Okay everyone, some of you that have seen my previous threads know I have been having some trouble with my amplifier/RCA's blah blah...

Well I got it all working a couple of minutes ago. There was multiple problems, but they are now solved.

The subwoofer impresses me greatly... It gets EXTREMELY low, way lower that any of my previous sets ups (which all contained 12" drivers btw.) The output isnt amazing, but its fairly loud. I am blaming the output on my box, it is tuned low (I wanted to try out a SQL box for once.) Also the box is on my back seat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif This is due to the fact that it didnt fit in my trunk.. I will be begining a new enclosure tomorrow, that shall fit in the trunk.

I would like a reccomendation for the new box, I was thinking of ~4.7 cubes before displacement tuned to 35Hz or so, with the port being 16" tall and 4" wide. Anyone care to suggest something different?

I tuned my MT18 to 34 and my XXX15 to 35 man and their was TOO much SQ, personal taste, next time i make a box i will tune for 40hz. Iam an SPL guy.
Im an SPL guy, and 40hz sounds like *** imo

i wont tune anything above 35 that i actually plan on listening to

I had a box for my Dreadnaut tuned to 42Hz and it was awful... But I am unsure of which spider option I have, I just got the sub from Meka.

What is the advantage to a larger ported box, besides efficientcy? Does larger/smaller affect the output?

I currently have a crx style box... but i want to have more port area and a bigger box.
didnt brad design it? isnt the port on one side, rather than the bottom..to attain more port..

We only use 50^2"s of port for 4 MT 15"s if that makes you feel better about having to give up some port area. Id atleast try it, works well for david //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah he did, he said something about not being able to do the port in the bottom because i wouldnt have enough space.
