15 making a clicking noise?

Aight well i have one of my 15" HC's in a 4.5 cubic foot box tuned to 36hz, hooked up to a 300 watt rms power amp rated at 16ohm lol Its running at 2 right now, and seems to be fine.

Anyways. When i turn it up pretty good, ( by the way is running through a crossover so its just lowpass fq) it seems to make a like clicking when the bass hits sometimes. It doesn't look like its bottoming out? Maybe it is? Im not running a sub filter or anything. And its prolly not seeing anymore than 600 watts.

Any ideas?

Could it just be distorting cause im underpowering it and giving it too much volume?

Meh i dunno its not a car amp, home strereo power amp for a sub.

600 watts is too much for it to be underpowered. so it has to be something else. is the gain or the bass boost up all the way? I'm not sure, but that could be the problem.

are you sure it's only gettin 600.......cause if it's 300 at 16 it seems like it should be more than twice that at one eighth the resistance
