15 inch sealed vs. 10 inch ported

15s sealed in a big box will get low but will lack the highs,,i had a rockford hx2 15 in a big sealed box and dammn it got low and loud, but nothing like i have today lol

This is what I was looking for as well. My buddy had 2 15 CVRs running off of a old RF Punch 250.1 that got stupidly loud and very very low, but I think one 15 ported would smash him. Whatever 15 I decide on will have to be a hall of fame type 15. Meaning something that is made with the best of the best technology and materials at the time.

Hit up SPLaudio and go with a custom 15. He can build you one to pretty much whatever you want, and for a good price too!

I love my dc xl 15 if you willing to throw out some money you should go for a level 4 15 mine gets stupid low on only roughly 1300-1400rms atm

If I do not want my box to be more than 15 inches deep but have more width to work with would that work too? I can fit 2.5-3.0 cubes easy but would rather the box be wider than deeper.

3 cubes is a lil small for a 15, i think you should do the 10s

There are small 15s that are made for smaller enclosures. I have been looking around. My question is whether I can sacrifice some depth for more width in my enclosure?

I can go as wide as 38 inches across. I would rather keep my depth no more than 14 inches. However that is plenty of width which would be more than adequate. Height isn't an issue as well for me.

what kind of vehicle and where are you going to put your sub and port

I have a Toyota 4-Runner and the port and sub would be facing the back of the trunk.

so maybe 16 tall would be fine? that would give you about 3.8 cubes

That's what I was thinking. About 16 inches high.
