15 inch l7 power handeling

That's what I said. Instead of running 2 of them sealed in 5 cubes he should run 1 of them ported in 5 cubes with the box tuned low. Then I got DDtC who is OBVIOUSLY the authority on the "low lows" telling me that tuning an enclosure for L7's is pointless.
L7s preform better tuned higher. It's in their design. They have weak motors, heavy soft parts, no excursion. Not the best combo for the lows.
He would be fine tuning low, he wouldn't have superior output compared to subs that dominate the lows, but I'm sure it would be enough for the OP.

And yes they do like higher tunings, but they can still play lows just fine, just nothing amazing lol

My CVR 15s sealed in 5 cubes dominated around the 30 hz region

Thanks for the responses but you guys don't need to argue I have read time and time again that sealed box let the woofers handle more power and also I have had much better experience with sealed boxes I like how they sound I just wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna fry them but from what I've read people run them like this all of the time

That made me lol. OBVIOUSLY.

Thermal power handling does not increase no matter what box.

Mechanical power handling will increase somewhat, thermal will go down somewhat in a sealed enclosure.

I've done a few L7 builds for guys, usually tuned around 34Hz. Around 1kw is all I'd throw at them. Did 2 in a big ported enclosure off a POS MA Audio amp that did a 49.7, was rather surprised....
