has anyone here ever done that before? i've got very limited space to work with and i'm thinking of either putting a 15 inch ICON or level 3 in a sealed box. or would it not get as loud and low as a 12 in a ported box tuned to 32 hz? it'd be around a 2 cubic foot box on 1000 watts which i might upgrade later

My system I had about 6 months ago was 2 15" L7's in a sealed probox on a 3000 hifonics wired to 1/2 a ohm in a 09 dodge challenger r/t. For the type of sub and little bit of money I had invested, the subs sounded absolutely amazing. L7's are known for ****** sound quality but the tiny sealed box someone turned the L7's into a bad *** system. If I could go back I would keep my system, I would look around and see if you could find a cheap pair of 15" L7's. If you wanted to make the drive to Dallas you could get my brother's (my old pair haha) but I wouldn't recommend running sealed in many subs, I'm honestly compteplating to run my new XXX's in sealed or ported...

One of my co workers had two JL 12 W6V2 subs in a dual sealed box in an acura car running on a 1,000 watt Rockford Fosgate amp.The bass with those subs was very powerful and extremely loud.

If you prefer sound quality then you will need a sealed box, otherwise you can go ported.

If the box is built properly, and tuned accordingly, there should be minimal sonic difference between a sealed and ported box. One is just more efficient then the other, in the big picture.

For an Icon, with 2.0 cubes to work with, lean towards the 12 ported. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

a pair of good 10s would be more sufficient,,,all day long:hihorse:
yeah i'm actually leaning towards getting a couple of dcon 10s. or any other tens that don't need big boxes and can be used off 1000 watts so if anyone has any suggestions let me know:)

tens will deff,be excellent for the airspace you have to work with.ssa subs sound great from ones ive heard so far...yet, if i ever blow my subs, i will be leaning towards the xcons of all the subs ive researched.you can get a pair of tens to bang pretty hard,my pair will go into error @140,so i dont really know what they are at,but will be putting 4 in my xcab after i heal up from sergury

yeah i was actually thinking either two dcon 10s or an icon 12. i like the icon they seem pretty good and that they can get loud and still sound good. plus it's got an american flag on the bottom. bitches love america
