my friend put a pair of 10" vvx's in his extended cab ranger he has the same amp as me a mb quart onyx 1500 stock electrical and such we put the speakers in the trunk of my cougar and they sounded much louder in my car than in his. even my 12" kicker cvr is louder then they are and that doesn't seem right. can someone tell me what this could be??

no it was the same box and everything my cougar is a 96 so no its not a hatch his subs are facing the roof

iv thought about the amp not getting enough power to move them and the ground is great

i can see my cougar putting out better voltage too lol so that could be a big part of it? what can i fiddle with to try and get better performance?

just an extra batter would help fix this right? i mean its only 1500watts

it has nothing to do with how much power it's getting from the alt, if it where to low the amp would go protect, it boils down to different cars sound different it's as easy as that or the hu is different than it was then your pre-out voltage may be lower and you may need to re-adjust your gain, if I take my 12's and move them from the trunk to the back seat the bass is gone put it back in the trunk and it's stupid loud.

i did find one serious issue and it was a total facepalm.... only had four of the screws in... total retard move lol he has some crazy power dropping going on though can that make it so my amp cant get all the juice it needs?? the needle drops till to a little less than a quarter on the guage it usually sits a bit above half
