$140 Speakers

I am wanting to spend $140 or $150 per set of speakers. I am needing 2 sets. What would be the best choice to go for? I am thinking the JL TR or VR series right now. Are Clarion speakers any good?

look into the pioneer revv series. the ones with the yellow cone. also look into the diamond coaxials. are you going to be running these with an amp?

Yes I am going to be running them with a JL amp and here is my setup to give you a better idea of what I am doing

Pioneer Premier DEH-P770MP head unit

1 JL 10w3 w/ JL e1400d amp

2 sets of Powerbass Xtreme Evolution Series ES572Xv.2 speakers (those are what I am debating on replacing...As of right now I want something with some bass so I can feel it at my feet, but with loud, clear, crisp highs.

Out of those, I think the JL VR's are the best.....good luck finding a set for $140 tho. I can't really find a set for less than $180 shipped

the diamonds and the pioneer rev's are better. worked with all of them. i do a lot of them in boxes for wakeboarding towers. the rev's are a little louder overall. the diamonds sound better as far as accuracy and overal tonal balance.

I got my RE Components for $127 shipped... Will be hard to find them for that cheap but its in the price range. I just installed them today.

Well right now with little tuning, the mids are lacking and the tweeters are bright. But of course I need to tune it more so Ill let you know. The tweeters might be bright because how I have them aimed, but I'll do a follow up tomorrow
