12w7 vs. 2 type r 12's

right now i have 2 12" type-r's running off a jbl 1200.1. i want something a little louder but i only want 1 sub. How would the 12w7 compare to my 2 type-r's?

excursion/displacement-wise, the type-r's are louder. I posted a similar question, mine comparing 2 Type R 12's to one Brahma 15. this time, i'd have to say the W7. most of the type R's install i see hit around 142db, while i say this one guy hit 148db with a JL 1000/1

well in over all loudness.....there is more cone area in the 2 type r's.....the 2 12's will be louder than any single 12.....assuming install is the same.....the install is the main decider tho.....

so 2 12" pyramid super duper hyper deluxe db++ pro hitter should be louder than a single RE HC 12"? j/k

W7 with ease...guys, it doesn't cost a fortune to lose to Type Rs...

yea..i remember the most i ever saw 2 15" focal sub with 500 watts RMS did was 145db (ported too). the install was great too, not some ghetto "put it in and you're done" type of thing.

W7s are great subs, better than people give them credit for. People just don't know how to use them...there not the ordinary "street beat" subs...

im saying in an identical situation...same power and box size and such.......2 12's woud be louder than on 12.....however....given a lot of power sent to a w7.....and a large box....the scales can be tilted......the w7's are a great sub...however i have my own personal issue's w/ them.....mainly price/ and upper bass reproduction....other than that....awesome sub

I've seen 2 1000/1s on a 13.5W7 and wow...changed my look on that sub all together...

all the specs were met and everything on the one i was listening to.....it just seemed to either miss the freq. all together or distort slightly when hitting the upper freq's....but then again....if you have a sq system...you'lll have a mid bass driver to cover that freq. range anyways....so shouldnt really matter

Not really, if the single 12" has enough displacement to outpace the two 12" that it replaced, it can indeed overcome it in the same install. You may need more power to do it, but it can be done readily.
