well people have been tellin me different things, iv heard that 15s hit fast bass hits better but 12s overall hit harder, i dont have a set of both to try it out but want to upgrade to some bigger subs, im wondering if i should go 15s or 18s, and dont say anything about single subs please :) i just, single isnt my thing, its all about dual for me.

its all in the box but a 15 of course would hit harder because of the cone area. motor force has alot to do with it also.

What does hitting harder mean? If that means "loudness" then the bigger the sub with more power porper enclosure will always hit you harder than a smaller sub less power porper enclosure.

Different size subs don't hit faster or slower than others. If a sub hit faster than another sub, the frequency would be different. A lot of the performance comes from the box you put the sub in.

dang broz 10's be hitting all the notez dat a 15 cant b hittin mane it be like da 15's fa ballas becuz it play more hard

**** finna be slappin cuz

o an u gotta put like 7 of em in a sealed box and if u wanna do it reel big u jus do 2 10s and a fiteen in der **** b quakin due u hit ALL DEM NOTES

looks like im uppin to 15s then, thanks guys, something that ppl made sound so complicated was so simple lol
If you're looking to maximize output you should start by finding out exactly how much space you have available/ are willing to give up. Two 12's in a properly sized enclosure can outperform 2 15's in too small of an enclosure.

the 12s i have now are in a pretty small sealed box, had em in a ported box thats a little bigger but heard sealed boxes hit harder so i switched em out.

That would be incorrect. Almost always (if properly sized is the key here), ported will be much louder.

hahahahahahhahahahha omg seriously STOP GOING WHERE EVER YOU HAVE BEEN GOING, and stop listening to the people your repeating. You need to read, do some homework.

Im sure none of the boxes ure using are big enough, most prefab boxes are way to small unless you have daytons lol

More then likly if you put ure 12s in the rec box size ported you would say it "hit" much harder and would be happyer then a set of 15s in another prefab box. What amp do you have? what subs?
