12's for limited space in my Crew Cab Sierra

I think I blew my RE SE 12's. Ill have to check them out just to make sure, but the screws didnt hold up in one of the subs and both blew.

I have 6.5" mounting depth and .88 cu ft of airspace in each chamber in my downfiring sealed box. I am just wondering if anyone out there has any similar experience with any other 12's in a tight space. I dont want shallow mount subs. Can anyone compare their experiences with any other 12's with the RE SE's? I'd like to have some more SPL. The SQ is great with the RE SE's, Im just suffocating them a little bit. I love these subs. They are great, just wish I had more room for them and throw them in a ported box, but I have a crew cab Sierra.

I'd like to try out the Sundown Audio SA12's, but I dont have the airspace.

Will be run on my Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 at 2 ohms so roughly 700-750 watts rms

That is the other subwoofer I was looking at. I have Image Dynamics website up for about 30 minutes looking actually. Read my mind. I was thinking they are more SQ oriented and won't be as loud as my RE SE's. They are great woofers from my knowledge. I'd prefer not to spend more than $150 per sub.

Power is 700-750 watts rms per subwoofer at 2 ohms from my Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1

idqs on same power dont appear to be any louder according to winisd. same power, same size, same xmax
Thanks bro. Always there for me to punch in specs for me on WinISD. I need to get that program. I attempted to use it a few times like, 5 years ago. Is it free? You helped me out last time, I feel like I'm free loading haha

its free, pretty easy to use too.

do u know what size ur alternator is? or have u done anything to support 1400 watts? i only have a 136amp alt and 1200 dims my lights

looks like ur stuck with the sound u got since u cant build a ported box for like two 8s

Very true. Ill probably start building a box for it sometime this summer. Got a bit too much going on.

As for the alternator, I know I need to get a bigger one. Its the stock alternator and I have been wanting to get an H.O. alternator. I do have the big 3 and 1/0 awg for all of my wiring. The lights dim quite a bit. I'm not sure if I have the 145 amp or 160 amp alternator. The 160 amp alternator is optional on my 5.3 and my truck is fully loaded, Texas Edition, Towing Package, adjustable power pedals etc... so I should have the 160 amp alt. I'd like to get a 250 or 300.

Either way, my stock alternator is not enough. I have a tray in my engine bay for a 2nd battery. Wondering if I should go with an H.O. alternator or a deep cycle battery. Probably the alternator before the battery since I only have a 160 amp alt
