I need some serious help here guys. I am not a bass head by any means and really don't care to have a sub but feel I may need one.
I have two JL 8W7's but am only wanting to use one. One of them may be going to my brother. The main issue I am having is SPACE. I need all the cargo space I can get and I know the W7's require a fairly large box. That is why I am considering using a sealed box if I go with the 8W7.
My set up is as follows:
Hertz HSK 6.5 components(front)
Hertz HCX(high energy) for the rear.
ARC KS300.4 bridged for the front
ARC KS300.4 giving 90 watts to the coaxials and 350+ watts to the sub.
I have considered going up to a shallower 10" JL. Any suggestions? I have read that the JL 10W6v2 is an awesome sub but I am not sure if the box for that sub would be any smaller. Any suggestions guys?
Here is the space that I am dealing with.
42.25"w right behind the 2nd row. Measured from inside of the wheel wells.
Just a shot where the 3rd row passengers feet would rest when seats are in use.
Cargo area behind 3rd row. Measures 49w" x 14"h(top of the tail gate) x 13"d
The 13"d measurement is from the top of the tail gate to the back of the seat. I could go higher but don't want to.
These are my max. measurements that would be allowed by me for a box. Obviously I would want to go smaller. If I can't then I would like the sub box to sit upright if possible in both scenarios actually. When the 3rd row is folded up I would like the box to rest up against the 2nd row.
